I need help with my English? PLEASE??

Question by Little red riding hood: I need help with my English? PLEASE??
Please help check if there are any grammar, spelling or phrases mistakes, I would really appreciate that cause this is really important to me. (just do something to make my story better) here:If you think you have spent the day profitably and want to take a rest, then why not go to the Love River to take a walk? When I was born, the Love River is still an unnoticeable sticky ditch, but now, it’s completely different. Not only the Love River is much beautiful than before, it also make Kaohsiung more colorful. You can hear the pleasant sound of musical instrument playing while tasting the delicious coffee along the riverside. Not only that, when you’re taking a walk, you might found out artists are busy helping passerbies to paint or some innocent little children picking flowers from the ground. This beautiful scene can appear more about Kaohsiung people’s temperament and enthusiasm.

Maybe a 5. While in general the English is understandable, there is poor grammar structure and some of the word usages are unclear, for example the phrase “please contact your windows directly” makes no sense.

Here:
In order to make Kaohsiung’s trafficmore convenient, the government of Kaohsiung decides to build the rapid trainsit. This big decision will influence Kaohsiung’s future, for Kaohsiung’s high quality life and promotion of culture and art.
And because that Kaohsiung is so outstanding, so 2009’s world games will be hold in Kaohsiung. This is of course an honorable thing, and also let foreigners know that how beautiful and progressive Kaohsiung is. In order to let foreigners have bright impressions of Kaohsiung, the people and the government works hard to make Kaohsiung better. In my point of view, Kaohsiung keeps improving, so I believe that we can achieve our high dreams of Kaohsiung .

What is the best way to find an English teaching job in Taiwan, especially in Kaohsiung?

Question by Shinchon: What is the best way to find an English teaching job in Taiwan, especially in Kaohsiung?
I’ve been in Taiwan for about a month now, and have been searching for a job. I’ve called probably close to 30 places and submitted resumes to about half of those.

I’ve had only two interview offers. One of them I had to turn down because the job was much farther away than expected. The other one, I was rejected, BUT the interviewer said that he still thought I had good teaching skills and would have made a good teacher, as well.

I’m fairly well-qualified. I have a CELTA, degree in a linguistics-related field, speak some Chinese, and have 1.5 years of experience teaching in Korea.

Can anyone offer any other suggestions for applying to jobs here?

How saturated is the market? It’s seeming REALLY saturated right now…

I’ve been using Tealit.com to find jobs (my most successful method, seeing as how it yielded two interview offers), and when I ran out of Tealit jobs to apply for, I also scouted out schools and cold-called them and dropped off resumes directly at others (completely unsuccessful, no interview offers).

I’m really feeling like there are almost no English teaching jobs in Kaohsiung right now, not even for reasonably qualified teachers, and the few that exist, there are 30 people applying to each one…

Does anyone have any suggestions? Any job-finding Web sites I don’t know about? Any recruiters I don’t know about?

I’ll take pretty much any job at this point that offers an ARC…

I think you’re right about the market becoming saturated. Too many Westerners want to bail out of the bad economic situation in the USA and elsewhere. You can also try looking online at “ESL99”.

Perhaps some of the other ex-pats here can lend a hand. I’ll try to point them at your question.

Chubu? Jerry? Anybody??? Care to help out?

Thanks, Chubu!

EDIT: ESL99 has a job posted as follows –
