Hi,

It is not close BUT you are very close to the Taipei Main Station MRT and from there it is 6 stops away to Taipei City Hall and a short cab ride from there (Less than NTD100/-) to Union Century Bldg.

Could be walking distance but I have not walked there.

Question by Junaluska: Keelung to Chiufen Village?
What is the best way? Train, bus or taxi? How much does it cost (approx.)? How long does it take? Can it be done in 6 hours?

Best answer:

Answer by Kingston D
The best way is to take a bus that is provided by Keelung Bus from Keelung to Jinguashi via Jiufen. The bus station is located near the train station in Keelung. Look on the bus that marks ??-(??-??)-?????. You can also take the bus provided by Fuhe Bus Company ???? that also operates the same route. It will cost you NT (US.40) for taking the service and will take you approx 2 to 3 hours to get there, which depends on the traffic and weather condition.

Buddhist who was the female Buddha whose statue graces the hillside park called Chung Cheng Park, Keelung Taiw

Question by gnosticv: Buddhist who was the female Buddha whose statue graces the hillside park called Chung Cheng Park, Keelung Taiw
I was told she was the daughter of a fisherman whose father was caught at sea in a typhoon and in an unprecedented moment of enlightenment she walked across the stormy sea to her fathers’ boat where the men were at the edge of hopelessness and calmed the sea. She lived out the rest of her life humbly without further astonishments. She didn’t like to discuss what happened. The translator had a difficult time with my questions and may have skipped or misunderstood much of what was said.

What is the nicest old fashioned harbour/port in Taiwan?

Question by Dogberts: What is the nicest old fashioned harbour/port in Taiwan?
Hi I’ll be in Taiwan for a few weeks and I would really like to see an old fashioned harbour. By this I mean one that has retained its historic buildings and ambience (preferably from the time under Japanese rule). My research has come up with Tamsui river harbour and Keelung but as I don’t have any pictures of these I can’t judge. What do you think is the nicest old harbour/port in Taiwan?

Best answer:

Answer by blah
ya, Tamsui river, I would go there if I were you. There are many harbours, but some are really not worth going, they are old, not historically old, but the dirty and disgusting old. There are alot of nice shops and historical buildings in Tamsui
